New York-based composer and classically-trained pianist, Rebecca Brandt has a sound all her own, fusing classical music with new contemporary sounds. She finds influence from the film scores of Philip Glass, the piano works of Maurice Ravel, and modern electronica from the likes of Bonobo and Imogen Heap.
Rebecca has scored a variety of films and multimedia projects. She has written original commercial spots sent to major clients such as Kellogg's, Mattel, MTV, and Audi through music production house The Lodge. Recent projects include scoring the short Chinese film "Play," teaming up with an award-winning theatre director to score upcoming productions, and working with Gary Schall of the Steve Reich ensemble on a piano phasing performance to premiere at Carnegie Hall in April 2012.
Rebecca is in the midst of recording her first album, set to be released this fall. The 15-track compilation of original compositions was written for 25 instruments and blends contemporary classical with instrumental electronica.
As a trained pianist, Rebecca is available to perform at shows and private parties. She also teaches piano lessons to students of all ages and skill levels. Rebecca studied music composition and film scoring at NYU, graduating cum laude with honors. She is a proud member of ASCAP.
